So here’s the thing. Teaching is brilliant, but it’s also… a lot.

The planning, the marking, the “Can I just grab you for a quick word?” moments that turn into half an hour — it all adds up. And while you’re busy holding everything together for your class, who’s holding things together for you?

That’s where Your Teacher Village comes in. We’re real teachers (yes, the kind who’ve survived rainy Friday afternoons and staff meetings that should’ve been emails), creating CPD and mentoring that’s actually useful. Practical, realistic, and research-backed — no fluff, no jargon, just the kind of support you can put into action straight away.

Learn a little about our 
journey so far

It all started with one teacher, a lockdown idea, and a lot of sleepless nights. What began as a small spark has grown into a whole village of support: built by teachers, for teachers. Here’s how we got here.

    2020

    Vicki had the ‘brilliant’ idea to set up a business (with no experience and no clue). What started as a lockdown project to keep her going through the tough times of being a first-time mum, soon became something much bigger. Welcome, 
Primary Steps!

    2021

    The year of late nights, endless podcasts, and learning the strange world of social media and selling (spoiler: it was harder than it looked!).

    2022

    The first parenting courses were launched, supporting parents with their children’s early learning.

    2023

    A plot twist! An unexpected event meant a huge pivot — shifting the focus from parents to teachers.

    2024

    The Village began to grow. Vicki brought in a team, recognising that she definitely doesn’t know it all (who does?). One thing became clear: every member needed to be a real teacher — because only then could the advice and support be truly realistic and relatable. (And by ‘teacher,’ we mean the whole education community: teachers, leaders, support staff, and childcare practitioners.)

    2025

    So much has changed since those early lockdown days, and it was time for a refresh. Primary Steps became Your Teacher Village — a new name that finally gave the business the energy and vibe it deserved.

    Vicki Yadav

    Meet Vicki, the brains (and heart) behind Your Teacher Village. She’s an Assistant Head Teacher, EYFS Leader, and all-round education enthusiast with over 15 years of experience.

    What began as Primary Steps has since grown into Your Teacher Village — a community built on the belief that teachers shouldn’t have to go it alone. Now, Vicki works alongside brilliant expert teachers to create CPD and mentoring that’s research-backed, realistic, and (most importantly) usable in real classrooms.

    Her mission is simple: to make sure teachers feel supported, confident, and never like they’re facing it all alone. Because it takes a village to support a teacher — and Vicki’s on a mission to build exactly that.

    Sarah Young

    Meet Sarah Young — a teacher who brings both expertise and heart to everything she does. With years of experience across KS1 and KS2, Sarah has walked the walk in classrooms full of curious questions, wobbly teeth, and the occasional glitter explosion.

    Her specialism in phonics and early reading has shaped much of her practice, but what really drives her is her deep commitment to inclusion. Sarah believes every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and able to thrive — and she’s dedicated her career to making sure no learner is left behind. Right now, you’ll find her teaching in an Inner London school, living the day-to-day reality of the profession she loves.

    Alice Fletcher

    Meet Alice Fletcher — Deputy Headteacher, SIAMS whizz, English enthusiast, and all-round superstar. Alice is one of those rare people who seems to do it all: she’s an incredibly dedicated teacher, impossibly efficient, and somehow still manages to balance the whirlwind of school life with a full, happy life outside the classroom.

    Right now, she’s Deputy Headteacher at an Inner London school, where she’s also teaching Year 6 — bringing her trademark mix of energy, expertise, and calm-under-pressure brilliance to every day.

    Emma-Lee Reddacliff

    Meet Emma-Lee Reddacliff — a breath of fresh air all the way from Australia. She’s an experienced teacher now embracing the flexibility of supply teaching, and she’s full of practical tips, tricks, and real-world wisdom.

    Emma-Lee has a wonderfully supportive approach with both children and adults, making her a trusted presence wherever she goes.

    Meet Hannah White — an experienced language teacher across both primary and secondary, and someone nationally recognised for her expertise in supporting language teaching and EAL learners.

    Passion radiates from Hannah the moment you hear her speak, and she’s known for inspiring others with her depth of knowledge and her practical, can-do approach.

    Megan Ford

    Meet Megan Ford — a highly experienced KS2 teacher and SENCO. Megan is known for her high expectations, her razor-sharp organisation, and the fact that she makes learning fun.

    Whether she’s supporting pupils or colleagues, her mix of structure and joy leaves a lasting impression.

    Hayley Stoner

    Meet Hayley Stoner — an outstanding childminder who’s also worked as a nursery practitioner and nanny. Around here, she’s affectionately known as our “potty lady” — because when it comes to toilet training, Hayley’s your go-to expert.

    What makes Hayley special is the way she always puts the child at the centre of everything she does, tuning into each little one as an individual.

    And it’s not just the children who benefit — Hayley has a gift for supporting parents too, helping them feel confident and reassured through those tricky milestones.

    Meet Sarah Hunter

    Meet Sarah, a teacher with a big passion for helping little voices grow big confidence. With years of experience leading language-rich learning from Nursery right through to Key Stage 2, she’s seen first-hand how powerful talk can be in shaping children’s understanding, relationships, and sense of self.

    Sarah’s on a mission to help as many children as possible become confident, capable communicators, and to support the adults around them to make that magic happen. She loves sharing practical, tried-and-tested strategies that really work in the classroom. Because when children find their voice, amazing things start to happen.
